Twilight

Twilight

That mystical time between day and night,
The sun setting colors the sky in every hue
Vibrant shades illuminating the clouds
Light soaks into the earth
saturating everything to our mortal eye.
All is beautiful, perfect, and divine.

Slowly in the west, the attention on the sun melts
just as it does, dipping below the horizon
Yet another heavenly spectacle takes the stage in the east
Amongst the florid storm clouds
the moon fills the sky
Just enough to still kiss the tree lines,
Bright and magnified enough to see
every lake on that beautiful face.
All is beautiful, perfect, and divine.

Caught in between opposing horizons,
I am stuck- in awe-struck wonder
While poets lust after that sunset
And Pagans after the moon
I find myself suspended between the two
In only what could be described as spiritually arresting
the vivid pallet of colors painting a romantic scene
Of hope, tranquility, and sanctuary,
All washing away into the loving arms of the night.
All is beautiful, perfect, and divine.
